Vietnam to promote APEC 2017 on CNN

Deputy Minister Bui Thanh Son said, the Subcommittee for Communications and Culture is actively contacting and working with partners and large international media agencies, including CNN, to introduce the image of Vietnam and APEC 2017 internationally. According to the senior official, this is an active and effective way to promote not only the APEC 2017 but also the image of Vietnam.

While working with international media, the APEC 2017 National Committee is also planning to publish a book about the APEC Vietnam 2017 in English to facilitate information popularization on the sidelines of the event.

At the session, Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son delivered a brief report on the preparation in 5 areas: Theme, Reception, Communications & Culture, Security and Health Service, and Logistics. The National Committee also stressed the need to finish the construction of APEC 2017-related facilities; proposed the participation of businesses in the APEC 2017 event; and suggested organizing training courses for officials and staff, including courses on diplomatic protocols, communications and English.

Speaking at the plenary session, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the APEC 2017 National Committee Pham Binh Minh highly appreciated constructive ideas and proposals of ministries, departments and agencies so that the committee could initiated the theme"Creating new driving force for a common future" and 4 priorities for the year: strengthening regional economic connectivity; fostering sustainable, creative and inclusive growth; supporting micro, small and medium enterprises; and enhancing food security and sustainable agriculture, and climate change adaptation.
