Vietnam welcomes new Japanese PM’s first overseas visit to Hanoi

That Suga Yoshihide has chosen Vietnam as his destination for the first ever overseas visit after being sworn in shows clear evidence of the good, strong and substantive development of the Vietnam - Japan extensive strategic partnership in various areas, Hang told reporters at a regular press briefing on October 15.
“We believe the visit will be a great success, making a positive contribution to promoting the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan, as well as contributing to economic recovery and social development of the two countries after the COVID-19 pandemic,” Hang stressed.
The Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson also said that the detail of the Japanese PM’s official visit will be announced on October 16.
