Vietnamese, Chinese leaders exchange New Year greetings

In his letter, the top Vietnamese leader showed his delight at the sound development of the friendly neighbourliness and all-around cooperation between the two parties and nations.
Both sides have maintained high-level delegation exchanges and meetings and stepped up cooperation across the board and people-to-people exchanges as a contribution to developing the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a sustainable and effective manner.
Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, in turn, said 2018 marked the tenth anniversary of the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and the two countries have constantly foster their time-honoured friendship, intensified exchanges, mutual trust, and support, and deepened result-oriented cooperation across multiple fields.
The voiced their hope that in 2019 – the year celebrating the 70th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties (1950-2020) – the two countries will exert greater efforts to propel these outcomes forwards.
The two leaders echoed their view that the two sides will increase high-level delegation exchange, consolidate mutual political trust, deepen comprehensive cooperation in diverse fields, satisfactorily deal with existing issues, reinforce friendships between people of the two countries, and make great strides in the relations between the two parties and countries towards meeting the aspirations and fundamental interests of their people, and for the sake of peace, stability, and cooperation in the region and the world as a whole.
Party General Secretary and President Trong wished China’s leaders and people a happy and prosperous New Year.
In reply, Xi Jinping wished that Vietnamese people will record greater achievements in reform and socialism building in the Year of the Pig.
