Government agrees to revise Law on Security Guard Force

At the meeting, the Government considered a proposal to develop a Law amending and supplementing a number of articles to the Law on Security Guard Force, and propose to revise the Employment Law (amended) as well as other law projects and laws.

Regarding the Law on Security Guard Force, the Government unanimously agreed that the amendment and supplementation to the Law on Guards was necessary in order to institutionalize the Party's viewpoints and policies on building and perfecting the legal system on security guard forces in accordance with the process of integration and expansion of international exchanges and cooperation while settling inadequacies and problems of the law on security and ensuring the consistency, synchronization, transparency and feasibility of the legal system.

The Government basically agreed on 4 policies proposed by the Ministry of Public Security.

They are include additional leading position holders in the Party and State agencies to be guarded by the security guard force; levels of conferences, festivals and events to be guarded by the security guard force; policy on security measures of the security guard force to meet the requirements in the new situation; powers of the security guard force.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that in the process of developing and perfecting laws and institutions, ministries and agencies should continue to attach importance to consulting experts, scientists, practitioners and those subject to the changes objects of impact while enhancing the popularization of the new or changed laws and regulations during the formulation and after the promulgation of the documentations to create social consensus and understanding.
