Japanese Embassy opens condolence book for former PM Shinzo Abe

The Japanese Embassy in Vietnam will open a condolence book on July 11-12 in commemoration of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who passed away on July 8.

The Embassy announced that the Book of Condolence will be opened at the headquarters of the embassy at 27 Lieu Giai Street, Hanoi.

The public can visit and sign the condolence book from 09.00 to 17.15 on both days.

Abe, Japan’s longest serving Prime Minister, was shot while campaigning for a candidate of the Liberal Democratic Party in the Upper House elections in Nara, a city in West Japan at noon.

He was admitted to a hospital and said to pass away at 17.03 (local time).

On hearing the news, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, extended condolences to the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party.
