 Minister of Public Security General To Lam hosted a meeting with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam Nikorndej Balankura, who paid a farewell visit to the Ministry of Public Security as he ended his working term in Vietnam, on the afternoon of March 13, 2024, in Hanoi.

On behalf of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Minister To Lam congratulated Ambassador Nikorndej Balankura on his successful a complishment of the term of office in Vietnam, highlighting the Ambassador's contributions to deepening the enhanced strategic partnership between the two countries in general, and cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Thai law enforcement agencies in particular.

Minister To Lam affirmed that during his time working in Vietnam, Ambassador Nikorndej Balankura made important contributions to promoting cooperation between Thailand and Vietnam, especially in the fields of politic, defence and security.

To promote the Vietnam-Thailand relationship to a new height, Minister To Lam proposed that the two sides effectively implement the commitments of the two countries' senior leaders on preventing illegal fishing as well as denyingany individuals and organizations from taking advantage of one country's territory to sabotage the other country.

The two sides should also effectively realize the available cooperation mechanisms, the signed documents, and continue negotiating and signing other important legal documents to promote existing cooperation mechanisms, specifically an extradition agreement and an mutual criminal assistance agreement while creating further favorable conditions for citizens of one country to study, work, and do business legally in the other country.

Ambassador Nikorndej Balankura expressed his respect and thanks to the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Minister To Lam for their good feelings to Thailand as well as to the Ambassador personally during his term of office in Vietnam. 

The Ambassador wished the friendship and comprehensive cooperative between Vietnam and Thailand to increasingly develop, and promised that he will continue to contribute to strengthening the Thailand-Vietnam relationship, no matter what assignment he is given in the furture.
