National Cyber Security Association’s Executive Committee convenes first time
The Executive Committee of the National Cyber Security Association of the 2023-2028 term held its first meeting, on the afternoon of December 14, in Hanoi.
At the meeting, Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Minh Chinh, who is also Standing Vice Chairman of the National Cyber Security Association, reported on the Association's activities since the congress.
The report reads, since the first National Congress on September 8, 2023, the Association has completed the relevant legal procedures for the Association’s operation.
On November 17, 2023, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued Decision No. 937/QD-BNV approving the Charter of the National Cyber Security Association.
The Association’s Executive Committee also drafted documents guiding its activities, prepared conditions for the opening of the Association Office, and defined its functions and missions.
At the meeting, delegates agreed to vote for an additional member to the Association's Executive Committee, and elected Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung as Vice Chairman of Association for term 2023-2028.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang praised the Secretariat and Association Office for their effort in recent times, and underscored a number of key activities and tasks for the Association in 2024.
The Deputy Minister requested the Executive Committee of the National Cyber Security Association to urgently form specialized subcommittees, promote the central role of the Institute for Research and Consultancy of Cybersecurity Policy and Laws, improve the efficiency of the Center for Technological Research, Assessment, Certification and Verification of Network Security, and shape a cybersecurity training network.
