National scientific seminar discusses role of People's Police Force in revolutionary cause of Vietnam

In the buildup to the 60th founding anniversary of the People's Police Force (July 20, 1962 - 2022), the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) in coordination with the Central Party Committee’s (CPC) Information and Education Commission on May 25 organized a national scientific seminar themed "The People's Police Force in the revolutionary cause of Vietnam".

The seminar was held in the form of videoconference connecting the MPS Headquarters with police departments of the 63 provinces and cities across the country.

The scientific event was co-chaired by Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh, Head of the CPC Information and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia, and three Deputy Ministers of Public Security, namely Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc and Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung.

In Hanoi, Editor-in-Chief of Communist Review Doan Minh Huan, Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan Dan Newspaper and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Le Quoc Minh, General Director of Voice of Vietnam Do Tien Sy attended the seminar, which was also participated in by former members of the CPC, leaders of CPC’s commissions, ministries and other Governmental agencies, police officers entitled “Hero of the People's Armed Forces”, former leaders of the former Police General Department, experts and scientists inside and outside the People’s Police Force.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized the important position of the People's Police Force in the structure of the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces, saying that it plays a crucial role in maintaining social order and fighting crime.

The force has made great contributions to building an orderly, disciplined, safe and healthy society and a rule-of-law socialist state. The history of the People's Police Force is part of the country’s revolutionary cause.

In his introductory address, Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Duy Ngoc stated that the organizers had received more than 100 scientific reports which comprehensively and systematically discuss theoretical and practical issues related to the foundation and development of the People's Police Force.

The reports sent to the seminar discussed eight main topics: How the Party, State, President Ho Chi Minh and the MPS leadership lead the People's Police Force; the growth of the People's Police Force; the  police’s coordination with other forces in fighting crimes, ensuring social order and safety; the role, position and contribution of the People's Police Force to the revolutionary cause of Vietnam;

the People's Police Force’s achievements in law enforcement and law-making; the force’s building of good working attitude and humane culture; the People's Police Force’s effort to apply scientific and technological advances to its work in the context of the fourth industrial revolution;

and the mission to build a revolutionary, professional, well-trained and modernized People's Police Force in the line of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
