State President presents rank promotion decisions to senior officers of People’s Army and People’s Public Security Forces
Member of the Politburo and President Luong Cuong, Chairman of the National Defence and Security Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, chaired a ceremony to promote senior officers of the People’s Army and the People’s Public Security Forces to the ranks of General and Senior Lieutenant General, on the morning of July 14, at the Presidential Palace.
Member of the Politburo and President Luong Cuong, Chairman of the National Defence and Security Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, chaired a ceremony to promote senior officers of the People’s Army and the People’s Public Security Forces to the ranks of General and Senior Lieutenant General, on the morning of July 14, at the Presidential Palace.
At the ceremony, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Office Pham Thanh Ha announced a presidential decision to promote Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army Trinh Van Quyet to the rank of General from Senior Lieutenant General.
The Deputy Chief of the Presidential Office also announced the President’s decisions to promote several senior officers of the People’s Army and the People’s Public Security Forces from the rank of Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General.
The newly promoted Senior Lieutenant Generals include Deputy Ministers of National Defence Nguyen Hong Thai, Nguyen Van Hien and Nguyen Truong Thang; Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Nguyen Quang Ngoc; and Deputy Ministers of Public Security Pham The Tung and Nguyen Ngoc Lam.
Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong congratulated the senior officers on their rank promotions, stating that the rank promotion reflects the Party, State and people’s recognition of their important contributions to the cause of safeguarding and building the Fatherland.
The President called on the newly promoted officers to uphold the glorious traditions of the heroic People’s Army and the People’s Public Security Forces, cultivate revolutionary ethics, be absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the Party and the people, strengthen internal unity and excel in fulfilling the missions entrusted by the Party, the State and the people.
