UNHCR passes climate change and human rights resolution co-proposed by Vietnam
The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)’s just-concluded session approved 23 resolutions and 1 decision, including the Resolution on climate change and human rights drafted and proposed by Vietnam, Bangladesh and the Philippines.
The Council’s 50th session, which concluded on July 8 in Geneva, gave top priority to women’s rights topic.
The Vietnamese delegation, led by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet, together with Bangladesh and the Philippines co-hosted the Symposium on ensuring the rights of vulnerable groups in the context of climate change.
The Vietnamese delegation opened a “Photo exhibition on ethnic and religious communities in Vietnam: Harmony in Diversity" at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, on June 28, the Vietnamese Family Day.
