Binh Dinh Police alongside local people struggling with flood

PSNews - The Binh Dinh Provincial Police has mobilized nearly 700 of troops and function vehicles over the past days to help people in critically flooded areas.

Due to heavy rains from late November, thousands of houses, dozens of roads were submerged in the flood water. The losses were initially valued at hundreds of billions of Vietnamese dongs.

Against this backdrop, implementing the Dispatch by the Permanent Office of the Steering Committee for Climate Change Response, Disaster Prevention and Rescue under the MPS, the Binh Dinh Police sent a number of task force teams with hundreds of police officers and many canoes and other function vehicles to evacuate hundreds of local people, mainly elders and children to safe areas.

The Binh Dinh Police summoned an emergency meeting, requesting all local agencies and units of the public security forces to  help local people deal with the heavy rains and floods.

According to Major General Nguyen Ba Nhien, Director of the Binh Dinh Police, the local police department has summoned an emergency meeting, requesting all local agencies and units of the public security forces to stop their regular work to concentrate forces and means to help local people deal with the heavy rains and floods.

On December 15 afternoon, some 200 policemen from the Binh Dinh Provincial Police’s agencies and units, and 500 policemen from agencies and units in Binh Dinh city and other districts were mobilized to most flood-hit localities, such as An Nhon town of Tuy Phuoc district, Phu My district, Phu Cat district, Hoai An district and Hoai Nhon district, to carry out search and rescue missions as well as help people

Meanwhile, traffic police teams were in collaboration with other forces in guiding vehicles and people in water-logged roads, ensuring traffic safety.

Local police also organized aid batches with food and other necessities to people and localities (Phu Cat, Phu My, Hoai An and Hoai Nhan districts) isolated by the flooding.

Recently, all police forces under the Binh Dinh Provincial Police are ready to deploy efforts and assets at request and are on 24/24h duty.
