Cong An Nhan Dan Newspaper’s 70th anniversary celebration: Special art programme
On October 24, a special art programme themed “70 years of People’s Public Security Journalists” took place at the Hanoi Opera House.
The event was one of the Cong An Nhan Dan Newspaper’s activities to mark the 70th anniversary of its first issue.
The programme was an opportunity for all officials and employees, police forces and readers to have a look back at the seven decades of the development and to praise the contributions of generations of Public Security journalists to the proud history of the Public Security Newspaper.

Present at the programme were Mr. Nguyen The Ky, Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of the Voice of Vietnam; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Khanh Toan, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Minister of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant General Le The Tiem, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Permanent Deputy Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Tran Ba Thieu, Director of the General Department of Politics; Major General Mai Van Ha, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics; Lieutenant General Huu Uoc, former Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, former Editor-in-Chief of the CAND Newspaper and the Public Security Television Channel.
The programme was also broadcast live on Vietnam Television and ANTV on October 24.

In the programme, 70 years of development of the Newspaper had been vividly revived through images, documentaries and grand melodies. Audiences saw the hardships of the first generation of reporters and editors who day and night tried their best to do their jobs to bring the CAND Newspaper’s publications to readers. Thanks to the endeavors and achievements of the first generation and following generations, the Cong An Nhan Dan Newspaper has now become a newspaper of people.
In addition, the audience was also introduced to the noble awards conferred on the Public Security Newspaper by the Party, State and the Ministry of Public Security during the 70 years of its history.

At the event, Lieutenant General Tran Ba Thieu, General Director of General Department of Politics, authorized by the Minister of Public Security, awarded the certificates of merit from the Ministry of Public Security to 9 individuals for their outstanding achievements, who have made large contribution to the name of the CAND Newspaper over the past time.
On this occasion, the General Department of Politics under the Ministry of Public Security also awarded 8 individuals and organizations in acknowledgement of their contributions to the CAND Newspaper in publishing work and charity activities.
