Cyber Security Police force urged to defeat conspiracies of hostile forces on cyberspace

The event was attended by Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, the Party Central Committee’s member, Deputy Minister of Public Security and chaired by the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention’s Director, Major General Nguyen Minh Chinh.

Reports at the event read that the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention in 2018 has well performed all assigned tasks set out by the Ministry of Public Security, in spite of negative impacts of the complicated situations of the world and the region.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam hailed the achievements of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention in recent times.
Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam urged the unit to continue to focus on Party and force building, promote the unit’s internal unity and create a corps of officers with good qualifications and virtues.
The Deputy Minister of Public Security asked the unit to actively participate in building and completing institutions, policies and laws related to the fight against cyber and high-tech crimes.
In particular, the unit should soon complete the Government's Action Program to implement the National Cyber Security Strategy in the first quarter of 2019; accelerate the building of documents guiding the implementation of the Cyber Security Law; and coordinate with relevant units to draft regulations on digital evidence, concretize criminal acts on cyberspace to supplement them to the 2015 Criminal Procedure Code.
Besides, the unit was urged to further improve the effectiveness of professional measures, be active in detecting and defeating all conspiracies of hostile forces on cyberspace.
The Deputy Minister of Public Security finally asked the unit to firmly protect security and safety of the information systems of key agencies of the Party, State and People's Public Security Forces and to implement projects on network security capacity building.
