At the meeting, Senior Colonel Luu Hong Quang, Director of the Lao Cai Provincial Police Department briefed the deputy minister and other delegates on the local police’s task performance in 2019 and in the first two months of 2020.

The Lao Cai provincial police force maintained the local situation of political security, social safety and order in 2019. 

Over the first months of 2020, the provincial police have actively grasped the local situation and advised the Ministry of Public Security, the provincial Party committee and People’s committee on measures to address security issues in security timely and effective manner.

The local police force hasproactively prevented and controlled the increase inonline scams and fought illicit drug trade and trafficking, while proactively enhancing information dissemination on COVID-19.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang recognized and praised the outstanding achievements of the Lao Cai police over the past time.

He also requested the provincial police to promote Party and force building, particularly to maintain local safety and order for the organization of Party congressesof the basic level.

The deputy minister asked the Lao Cai Provincial Police Department to proactively detect and fight against crimes,enhance foreign relations and international cooperation, contributing to ensuring local safety and order, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development in the locality.
