Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son receives delegation from Lao Ministry of Security
PSNews- On the afternoon of September 12, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security received a delegation of the Department of Household Registration and Mass Mobilization under the Ministry of Public Security of Laos led by Major General Khamsai Chanthavong, who is on a visit to Vietnam from September 11 to September 15.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Quang Chi, Deputy Director of the Department of “All People Protecting National Security” Movement Building (V28), briefed the participants in the meeting on the results of the talks between the V28 and the Lao’s Department of Household Registration and Grassroots-Level Building held in the morning.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son hailed the outcomes of the talks on experience exchange between the two delegations. He also underscored the key issues that the two sides should focus their cooperation on. These include management of free border-crossing migration of residents of the two countries, especially the unregistered marriage between Vietnamese and Lao people living along the shared borderline.
The Deputy Minister considered that is an important and pressing issue as it impacts directly the residence management, household registration as well as social order and security of each country.
As both countries see an increasingly complicated developments in drug trafficking, particularly along the shared borderline, the Vietnamese Deputy Minister suggested, the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Lao Ministry of Public Security should enhance coordination in residence permit management and local-level force building.
He also underlined that the public security forces of the two countries should focus on law and information dissemination and mass mobilization to improve people’s awareness of drug-related crime and prevent them from being involved in such crimes.
