The meeting, which was held to review the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department’s task performance in 2018 and to roll out its key tasks in 2019, also saw the participation of Secretary of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Quang Duong and other province’s leaders, representatives of units under the Ministry of Public Security.

Reports at the event read that, in 2018, the Bac Lieu Provincial Police well performed its role in advising the local authorities on measures to ensure security and order in the city.

The unit launched various effective campaigns to fight crimes, destroyed many gangs and groups of criminals related to drugs, “black credit” and eradicated “black spots” with complex social order issues. The Bac Lieu Provincial Police also focused on investigating serious cases, while denying the emergence of “black spots” of security in the province.

Last year, the Southern province’s police force successfully investigated 80% of the criminal cases, including 100% of the serious cases.

Besides, the Bac Lieu Provincial Police in 2018 paid due attention to the implementation of the “All people protecting national security” movement, and built various good models in the fight against criminals.

Meanwhile, the local police also achieved positive results of Party building and force building. Discipline, manners, style of work of officers were strengthened.

For their outstanding achievements last year, may individuals and collectives of the Bac Lieu Provincial Police were presented with noble awards by the Government and the Ministry of Public Security.

Speaking at the event, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son spoke highly of the Bac Lieu Provincial Police’s achievements in 2018.

Regarding 2019’s core missions, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son urged the Bac Lieu Provincial Police to adhere to the local economic, social, defense and security development tasks. Particularly, the unit should clearly comprehend that its highest political responsibility is to protect security, order in the locality and peaceful life for locals.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security asked the Southern province’s police to fully grasp the directions and guidelines given by Party General Secretary, President Nguyen Phu Trong to the forces at the 74th National Public Security Conference while paying more attention to Party building and force building.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son urged the Bac Lieu Provincial Police to improve the effectiveness of the unit’s implementation of police professional measures, and to follow the Ministry of Public Security’s motto in 2019: focusing on strengthening grassroots-level units and reducing crimes.
