The working session also saw the attendant of Deputy Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong; Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee; Senior Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau, Director of the Nghe An Provincial Police Department; and Senior Colonel Ho Sy Tuan, Director of the Nghe An Provincial Firefighting Police sub-Department.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security on August 23 led a working delegation to work with the Nghe An Provincial Firefighting Police sub-Department.

At the working session, Senior Colonel Ho Sy Tuan briefed Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son and other delegates on the fire prevention and fighting situation from the beginning of 2017.

In particular, the Nghe An Firefighting Police focused on guiding all of its affiliated units to strengthen the knowledge, as well as forecast, analysis and assessment capacity of the fire prevention and fighting service in order to advise Party committees and authorities at all levels to draw up measures to improve the effectiveness of the management of the fire prevention and fighting and rescue service in the province.

Over the past time, the force has advised local Party Committees and authorities to set up interdisciplinary delegations to carefully inspect fire prevention work at fire-prone facilities in the locality.

The force has handled fires and other incidents on time and effectively, minimizing the damages caused by fire and other incidents.

Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son praised the efforts made by Nghe An firefighting police officers, while expressing his empathy with the local fire fighting force, a newly-establish one, that is still facing various difficulties in performing their tasks.

The deputy minister also appreciated the close coordination and relationship between the Nghe An Provincial Police Department and the Firefighting Police sub-Department in implementing the local political tasks.

In the coming time, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son urged the Nghe An Provincial Firefighting Police to strictly implement Directive No. 47 of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on strengthening the leadership of the Party over fire prevention and fighting activities; to advise the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on directions of the local implementation of the above mentioned Directive; and to take measures to raise people’s awareness of fire safety; 

The force was also asked to further strengthen the cooperation with relevant forces, branches and localities on inspecting the fire safety situation across the locality, and to focus on force building.
