Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh receives delegation of Sri Lanka Police

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice Minister of Public Security, on September 18 received a visiting police delegation of Sri Lanka, led by its Vice Inspector General Sanjeewa Dharmaratna.

An overview of the reception.

Vice Minister Nguyen Van Thanh highlighted the fine traditional friendship and cooperation in various areas and mutual support at international and regional forums between the two countries over the past time. The high-ranking public security officer affirmed that the Government of Vietnam is always thankful for the support from Sri Lanka for the Vietnamese people in their struggle for national independence in the past and current national construction and development.

Vice Minister Thanh suggested that the two sides continue to coordinate and complete a legal framework for long-term cooperation in professional activities and crime prevention and combat; promote exchange of experience in law enforcement, criminal investigation and manhunt in order to enhance efficiency of each side’s prevention and control of crimes, particularly transnational crime, drug-related crime, high-tech crime and human trafficking, which involve citizens of the two countries.

Vice Minister Thanh also asked both sides to promote exchanges of high-ranking delegations, hold meetings to share experience in crime prevention and control, fire prevention and fighting, and support each other in training foreign languages, for their police officers

Mr. Sanjeewa Dharmaratna thanked Vice Minister Thanh for the reception and highly appreciated the achievements by the Vietnam police force in the past time. He emphasized that the Sri Lanka Police always attaches importance to promoting all-sided ties with the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam.
