Ho Chi Minh City to install 2,000 security cameras in District 12
On May 5th, the District 12 Police officially launched and put into use a urban security monitoring center with 12 monitoring screens and 518 cameras arranged in local hotspot of security and order in District 12.
Le Truong Hai Hieu, Chairman of the District 12 People’s Committee said, 135,000 households with over 550,000 residents are currently residing in District 12. The large population makes it difficult for the authorities to manage and ensure security and order in the area.
The urban security monitoring center allows local relevant forces to grasp the security and order situation in the areas. In phase 1, 500 cameras were installed in key areas to support competent forces in generally monitoring public security and closely observing key targets, archiving information and data as good references for research and criminal investigation.
In the coming time, 2,000 security cameras will continue to be installed to cover the whole District 12.
