Ho Chi Minh Police debuts “Iron Fist”against crime
Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Party Committee Dinh La Thang highly appreciated the determination of the Ho Chi Minh authorities, particularly the municipal police force, while highlighting the improvement of security and order in the city.

Criminal cases in 2016 shrank by 13.31% compared to 2015, including the sharp fall in the number of offenses relating to property losses, while the rate of resolved cases reached over 70%.
However, Party Secretary Dinh La Thang pointed out that the local criminal situation still remains complex.
Under the guidance of the city’s leadership on the formation of a specialized force, the Ho Chi Minh City police force submitted the proposal to the Ministry of Public Security. With the permission by the Ministry of Public Security Forces, the city’s police decided to establish the task-force squad operating in Southern city, which will serve as an “iron fist” to fight crime.
Mr. Dinh La Thang stressed, the squad should promote the glorious traditions of the Public Security Forces, uphold their responsibilities, and restlessly improve their abilities and capacities to combat crime in a flexible, creative and efficient manner, meeting the expectation of all-level leadership and people.
The Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Police’s Directorate is requested to to direct relevant agencies and units to swiftly finish the organization, facilities, vehicles, working procedures, and coordination mechanisms so as to deploy the unit soon and effectively.
The squad directly led by PC45 will operate mainly in 5 districts namely District 7and 8, Binh Tan, Binh Chanh and Nha Be.

According to Lieutenant General Le Dong Phong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Police, in the future, PC45 and the squad will have to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to work out specific operational goals, strategy and breakthrough solutions to the fight against crime.
