On November 28, 1959, President Ho Chi Minh wrote an article on the Nhan dan (People) Newspaper, stressing the significance of tree planting to each person, each family and the entire nation. Since then, tree planting has become an annual national event in the beginning of the Lunar New Year.

Following Uncle Ho’s teaching, generations of officers of the Hung Yen Provincial Police Department have participated in the Lunar New Year Tree Planting Festival.
As a result, more trees are planted in the campus of the Provincial Police Department’s Headquarters in spring, contributing to creating a greener, cleaner and more beautiful working environment.
Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Do Dinh Hao, Director of the Hung Yen Provincial Police Department urged all officers and soldiers to join the tree planting movement practically by popularizing the significance of tree planting, participating in tree planting movements.
He also urged officers to mobilize other people to participate in the movement.
During this year’s drive, leaders and officers of the Hung Yen Provincial Police planted dozens of trees at the unit headquarters.
