MPS leader extends Chol Chnam Thmay greetings to Khmer people in Bac Lieu

Major General Le Tan Toi, Deputy Minister of Public Security, leading a delegation, on April 12 visited and extended New Year greetings to the local Khmer community in Bac Lieu province on the occasion of their traditional New Year festival, Chol Chnam Thmay.

The delegation visited two Cham pagodas in Phuoc Long district and Bac Lieu city, extended best wishes to the Khmer people and Buddhist monks on the occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay.

Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi briefed the Buddhist monks and local people on the socio-economic, security and order situations in the country over the past time. He also explained them about the tricks and conspiracies of hostile forces aiming to sabotage the national unity bloc.

He hailed the effective participation of the Buddhist monks and local reputable people in the movement of “All people protecting national security”, appreciated their support for the local police force, and thanked them for their contributions to ensuring security and order, and promoting socio-economic development in the province.

The public security official wished that local Buddhist monks and people would continue their support and contribution to national security, and strictly follow the measures to prevent and combat the COVID-19 pandemic during the festive season.

For their part, Khmer Buddhist monks and nuns expressed their gratitude to the Public Security Ministry for the care and affection for the Khmer people, and promised to cement national unity and join hands with the police force to ensure security and order in the locality.
