MPS to invest more in Firefighting and Rescue Police
PSNews-On the afternoon, Lieutenant General Bui Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security presided over the meeting to evaluate the pre-feasibility of a project on “Equipment Investment and Capability improvement of the Vietnamese Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Force” with the use of Japanese ODA loans.

The event saw the presence of representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), relevant agencies and agencies under the Minister of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, the Office of Government and the Ministry of Public Security (MPS).
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh affirmed that the MPS will closely coordinate with the concerned ministries, branches and agencies to complete the pre-evaluation procedure process for the project as scheduled, ensuring the effectiveness of the project, contributing to improving the capacity of the fire police, so as to minimize damages to people and property while increasing the rate of rescued property and people in the project’s target localities and their neighborhoods, in case of fire and explosion. The project is also expected to contribute to ensuring political security and social order as well as to protecting the country’s industrialization and modernization.
At the meeting, the functional agencies listened to the reports, discussed and agreed on some issues related to the contents and progress of the project implementation. Delegates also gave suggestions, supporting the MPS to complete the pre-feasibility study report that will then be submitted to the Prime Minister for consideration of the policy to invest in the project.
