MPS works with NA Committee on National Defense and Security

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on April 3 worked with leaders of the National Assembly (NA) and NA Committee on National Defense and Security to review the situation and results of ensuring security and order in the Q1 of 2018 and law-making process.

The meeting was co-chaired by Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security and General Do Ba Ty, Member of the Central Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the NA.

The event also saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Vo Trong Viet, Member of the Central Party Committee, Head of the NA Committee on National Defense and Security; members of the Central Public Security Party Committee and leaders of the MPS and the NA Committee on National Defense and Security.

Major General Luong Tam Quang, Chief of the MPS Office briefed delegates on the work of ensuring security and order in the Q1 while Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Director of the Department of Legislation and Administrative, Judicial Reforms reported on the progress of building legal projects to be submitted to the NA for consideration and approval.

In the coming time, MPS will continue to be active in grasping, analyzing and evaluating the situation while producing good situational forecasts so as to promptly report and advise the Party and State leaders on policies and strategic solutions. 

The ministry will also ensure absolute security and safety for important targets, key projects, as well as importantly political, cultural and social events of the country. 

Next, it will take drastic measures to fight criminals and search for wanted fugitives while dealing promptly and effectively with complicated criminal issues arising in each locality.

Additionally, the Central Public Security Party Committee and the MPS will continue to strictly implement the directions of the Politburo, the draft laws and legal documents related to renovating and streamlining the public security apparatus for more efficiency and effectiveness.

On behalf of the NA, General Do Ba Ty warmly congratulated and praised the results achieved by the MPS and the NA Committee on National Defense and Security in the past time. 

General Do Ba Ty proposed that the Law Drafting Office of the MPS should strengthen coordination with the NA Committee on National Defense and Security to ensure that the revised Public Security Law will be approved by the National Assembly in the coming time.

To conclude the meeting, Minister Lam said that the MPS’s achievements over the past time resulted from the directions of the Party, State and NA; the close cooperation of various ministries, Central agencies and branches; and the support of the people. Particularly, relevant NA Committees, including the National Defense and Security, made great contributions to the building and completing legal documents related to security and order.

On this occasion, Minister To Lam awarded “National Security Protection” insignias to NA Deputy Chairman Do Ba Ty, and Mr. Can Van Lai, Chief of the NA’s National Defense and Security Committee, for their important contributions to ensuring security and order.
