Minister To Lam works with Fire and Rescue Police Department

Minister To Lam delivers a keynote speech at the meeting.

Attending the meeting, Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Le Quoc Hung suggested that the Fire and Rescue Police Department should further apply scientific advances in fire prevention, fire-fighting and rescue, while advising the Ministry of Public Security's leadership to expand international cooperation in fire-fighting and rescue as well as in production of more equipment for the fire and rescue police force.

At the meeting, Minister To Lam stressed some key tasks for the department to perform in the coming time, saying that it should actively advise the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security to effectively implement directions of the National Assembly, the Government and the Prime Minister on the work of fire prevention and rescue.

It should also assume the prime responsibility for advising the Ministry of Public Security to complete the system of legal documents on fire safety and rescue, the Minister added.

He asked the Fire and Rescue Police Department to promote dissemination and education of the laws and knowledge on fire safety in the community while supervising and inspecting the work of fire prevention and firefighting readiness of fire sub-units and fire divisions in localities. 

Additionally, it should build a professional fire and rescue police force with good expertise, technical mastery, and high readiness to fight fire and conduct rescue missions.
