Ministry of Public Security holds 8th “For National Security” National Emulation Congress

The event saw the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, State Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, Minister of Public Security To Lam, leaders of ministries and Central-level agencies as well as typical teams and individuals in the movement “For National Security” and movement “All people protect national security.”

According to Minister To Lam, the Congress is an important political event of the entire Public Security Forces, which aims at encouraging and honoring teams and individuals who have made outstanding achievements in protecting the national security over the past five years.
For their excellent achievements and exploits over the past years, the Public Security Forces were awarded the Gold Star Order, the Ho Chi Minh Order, three Independence Orders, 86 “Feat of Arms” Orders and many other honors by the Party and State. Meanwhile, 329 teams of the Public Security Forces were awarded the Emulation Flags by the Government.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that, over the past years, public security officers and soldiers have increasingly been loved and respected by the people while their good deeds and contributions to safeguarding the national security and people’s lives have been recognized by the Party, State and people.

The Prime Minister also paid respect to public security martyrs and wounded soldiers who bravely sacrificed their blood and lives in the fight against crimes over the past time.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Phuc asked the Public Security Forces to direct emulation movements toward the grassroots level as well as encourage public security officers and soldiers to overcome all difficulties and shortcomings and well perform their assigned tasks.

He also requested each public security Party committee and Party member to uphold their leading role and sense of responsibility in setting examples in the emulation movement "For National Security".

At the Congress, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Public Security’s Council for Emulation and Commendation, General To Lam launched the emulation movement "For National Security" in the period of 2020-2025 with the theme "Promoting the glorious tradition, proactively setting examples, observing discipline, upholding the sense of responsibility, and enhancing working effectiveness, and wholeheartedly serving the people and the country”.
