Police uncover 32 large smuggling cases since December 1
At 3am, December 23rd, the joint working police team stopped a coach with its registration place 14B-008.82 for a regular check and detected more than 700 mobile phones of well-known brands such as Iphone and Samsung.
These electronic items were hided inside handmade hold along the coach, covered with air-conditions and speakers outside in an attempt to blind fold relevant agencies.
When the working team found the items, the driver could not show the coupons of the goods.
This is one of 32 smuggling cases detected and arrested by the Public Security Forces within the past 23 days.

Major Lieutenant General Ngo Kien, Director of Anti-Smuggling Police Department said, after 23 days (from December 1st to December 23rd) implementing the ''Peak” of the campaign against smuggling and trade fraud during Lunar New Year 2017 and Order from the Minister of Public Security on the peak period to crackdown on crime of all kinds in country from December 16th to February 15th 2017, C74 in collaboration with other function agencies has detected and handled 32 cases of smuggling, upby 23 cases (255%) compared to last month. The value of each smuggling case is about 500 million VNDon average but some have mounted to billions of VND.

More than half of 32 detected cases involve cigarettes, clothes, shoes, electronics, toys, housewares, whichare essential goods for Tet 2017. Additionally, some seized items are related to prohibited goods, such as ivory, rhino horns, pangolins scutes, firecrackers, counterfeit money.
