Public Security Journalists’ Association holds its 5th Congress

At the beginning of the 2015 - 2020 term, the association had 214 members but it has now had 466 members and 12 chapters.
At present, the Ministry of Public Security has 17 press and media agencies. All police departments of the 63 provinces and cities across the country regularly broadcast their radio and TV programs on the local radio and TV channels.
Over the past years, the public security press sector has quickly popularized the guidelines and directions of the Party, policies and laws of the State, and the directions of the Ministry of Public Security’s leadership while press and media products made by the public security press and media sector also focus on reflecting the People’s Public Security Forces’ core missions of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety.
During the last term, members of the Public Security Journalists’ Association won various high prizes of press competitions at all levels. Many public security press agencies were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Minister of Public Security for their contributions to fighting wrong and hostile views against the Party and the State in the curent situation.
At the meeting, delegates discussed and proposed solutions to overcome difficulties and shortcomings in the operation of the public security journalists’ organization. Delegates also elected a new Executive Committee of the Association for the next term. The Congress also elected an Inspection Board for the new term with three members.
On this occasion, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Ho Quang Loi presented the Medal "For the cause of journalism" to 33 members of the Public Security Journalists’ Association.
