Public security trade union launches occupational health and safety month

The Public Security Trade Union held a ceremony on May 9, to kick off the organization’s support for the 1st occupational health and safety month in 2017.
The launching ceremony saw the participation of Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Muoi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics; Major General Hoang Tho Manh, Deputy Commander of Mobile Police, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Manh Ha, Chairman of the Public Security Trade Union.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Muoi praised the Public Security Trade Union organizations at all levels for positive efforts and outcomes of the union's movements.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Muoi instructed the Public Security Trade Union at all levels to well perform the following tasks:
Promoting dissemination of information about law and knowledge of labor protection via various forms and approaches;
Strictly implementing laws and regulations of occupational health and safety, reducing environmental pollution, minimizing occupational accidents;
Supervising the deployment of social policies, including social insurance, health insurance, salary insurance and bonus for officers, soldiers and employees.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Muoi also hoped that the occupational health and safety movement will become an annual movement, helping raise people's awareness on labor safety.
In addition, the Public Security Trade Union presented certificates of merit to 11 organizations and 18 individuals for their excellent results in the union's movements.
