Science and technology contribute significantly to quality of task accomplishment of PSF

The ceremony saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security; and Mr. Bui The Duy, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.

56 years ago, on May 18th 1963, President Ho Chi Minh made an important speech on the important role of science and technology in national development, defense and security at the First National Congress of the Vietnam Science and Technique Dissemination Association. Since that historical event, May 18th has become the Vietnam Science and Technology Day.

Recognizing the importance of science and technology to the cause of national security protection, in 2014, the Public Security Central Party Committee issued a Resolution on “Strengthening police science in the new situation.”

Over the past years, the science and technology sector of the Public Security Forces (PSF) has developed dramatically and achieved important results, contributing to the overall success of the Public Security Forces.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh delivered a report entitled "The impact of the Industry 4.0 revolution on the work of ensuring security and order in the current situation". Mr. Bui The Duy, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, discussed the topic "Opportunities, challenges and issues in scientific and technological research and application of scientific and technological advancements into the work of ensuring security and order".

At the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh also spoke highly of the achievements and contributions of scientists and staff working at both research centers and science and technology management agencies in the Public Security Forces over the past time, saying that the science and technology sector of the Public Security Forces has developed to a new height and achieved important results, contributing significantly to results of the task performances of the Public Security Forces.

He also said that the research results in professional science and social sciences have allowed the Public Security Forces to advice the Party and the State to craft guidelines and policies on order and security as well as served as a basis for the Public Security Forces to build their operational mottos, principles and measures and improve doctrines on protecting national security, ensuring order and social safety, and building the public security forces.
