Security cooperation remaining important pillar in Vietnam-China relations
PSNews-Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of Politburo, Minister of Public Security met with Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Political and Legal Affairs Commission Meng Jianzhu; Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun; and Deputy Minister of Public Security and Interpol President Meng Hongwei.

On behalf of the law enforcement forces of China, the host welcomed Mr. To Lam and delegates of the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnam Communist Party (CPV) led by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. The visit has marked an important milestone in the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two nations, including cooperation among the two sides’ law enforcement agencies.

Both sides expressed pleasure over the growing bilateral relations in all areas, especially the effective cooperation between Vietnam’s Public Security Ministry and the law enforcement bodies of China. The outcomes of the talks between the two Party chiefs and the two Party delegations will become major orientations for the two Ministries of Public Security to deploy cooperation activities in the future, for national security, social order and safety of each country, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
Regarding cooperation on security and order, both sides have maintained contact channels to on time exchange information about terrorism and terrorists’ plots and attempts. The two sides have proactively coordinated in combating crimes, especially cyber-crime, drug-related crime, human trafficking and counterfeit money, and pursuing wanted fugitives.
Both sides have enhanced cooperation in terms of security by promoting exchanges of delegations at various levels, ensuring security and safety for organizations, enterprises and citizens of one country in the other.
Sen. Lieut. Gen. To Lam thanked the host for their warm reception. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security attaches much importance to its cooperation with law enforcement forces of China in ensuring security and order.
He also congratulated the Party, State and people of China on their great achievements in all fields, to which its law enforcement agencies have made important contributions.
