Son La Police support people to overcome consequences of natural disaster

According to statistics, the natural disaster caused one dead and five injured in Son La Province. There were 693 houses with roofs damaged, including 16 completely unroofed.
Over 501 hectares of maize and fruit crops were seriously damaged.
Heavy rains also sank or swept away 33 motorboats and over 1,200 meters of road surface was damaged while causing waterlog in some inter-district and inter-provincial roads. The total loss amounted to over 19 billion VND.
In the situation, the local Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Rescue inspected and assessed the damage while local authorities mobilized forces and means to help local people overcome the consequences of the disaster and resume their lives to normal. They also sent working teams to visit and encourage the families with dead or injured victims.
The local police forces also mobilized over 200 police officers soldiers, in coordination with the functional forces, to evacuate local people and their property in the storm-hit locations to safe places. They also joined hands with local people to clean the environment and repair local people’s houses.
Furthermore, the local traffic police were also deployed to main traffic routes to guide traffic flows and help people go through waterlogged sections.
