Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Party Central Committee’s member, Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended the event. The conference also saw the participation of leaders of Thua Thien-Hue province and units under the Ministry of Public Security.

Reports delivered at the event read that despite difficulties, the Thua Thien-Hue provincial police forces successfully completed all assigned political tasks in 2020, contributing to ensuring absolute safety for political, economic, cultural and social events in the province.
The local police implemented synchronous and effective measures to combat crimes, and thoroughly grasp and control the situation, contributing to maintaining political stability in all situations. The police force in Thua Thien – Hue focused on preventing and countering sabotage schemes and activities by hostile forces on cyberspace and well implemented prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic; and took a leading role in helping locals overcome natural disasters.
In 2020, the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police made a big success in the fight against crimes, especially drug-related crimes, economic crimes, hi-tech crimes with 634 cases or 87.33 percent of the total criminal cases successfully investigated.

Regarding the project to build the communal police force, the Provincial Police Department has deployed 552 professional police officers to all 106 communes and townships in the province to ensure security and order at the grassroots level.
For their excellent results, many officers and subunits of the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police Department have been awarded with noble titles, certificates of merit and emulation flags by the State, Government and the Ministry of Public Security.
At the event, under the authority of the State President, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam awarded the Third-class Fatherland Protection Order to the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police, the Second-class Fatherland Protection Order to the Party and Political Work Division under the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police Department.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam recognized and praised the working results of the Thua Thien-Hue provincial police.
According to the Deputy Minister, in the coming time, the local police should continue reviewing and developing plans in order to effectively solve issues related to political security, social order and safety. He also asked the unit to deploy plans to ensure security and order during the upcoming 13th National Party Congress.
