On December 17th, the flooding in Quang Nam has gone, the traffic is back to normal. However, the police force is still busy helping peopleclean up their homes and stabilize their lives and production. 

The Quang Nam Provincial Steering Committee for Climate Change Response, Disaster Prevention and Rescue reported that the flooding caused terrible damages to local people. More than 15.000 houses were waterlogged; the local authorities had to moved 50 local households in DuyVinh commune, Duy Xuyen district; Que Xuan and Que Phu communes, Que Son District out of dangerous areas.

The flooding also caused 34,000m2 of landslide;sections of road were broken and covered with mud, leading to traffic jams. More than 530ha of rice and 4.000 ha other crops were totally damaged.

During rescue operations, police forces used variousvehicles to take hundreds of people to safe areas.

Currently, the police force with other local forces continue evacuating1,000 households to safe areas. Local police teams are alsodistributing clean water and noodles to people in flooded areas.
