Training course on domestic violence prevention kicked off

The General Department of Police under the Ministry of Public Security opened a training course on domestic violence prevention on January 4th, in Can Tho for local police units of the 10 provinces in the southwest region.

Senior Colonel Le Tan Tao, Deputy Director of the General Department of Police and Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Thuan, Deputy Head of the Can Tho Municipal Police attended the opening session.
The 3-day training course drew the participation of 50 trainees who are leaders of involved divisions of local police units.
This course will provide basic knowledge and issues relating to domestic violence, the legal system; procedures and principles to handle domestic violence cases; as well as the public security forces' role in preventing domestic violence, protecting victims and punishing violators.
In addition, the course also creates a good opportunity for all participants to discuss and exchange experience in effectively popularizing domestic violence prevention in communities.
