Vice Minister Bui Van Nam inspects task performance of HCMC Police
PSNews-Senior General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security led a delegation to work with the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Municipal Police Department.
Recently, the Municipal Police has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure security and social order in the area, said Lieutenant General Le Dong Phong, Director of the HCMC Municipal Police Department. In the first five months of 2017, more than 1,930 cases happened in the locality, down by 69 cases compared with the same period of previous year. The City’s Police had investigated 1,258 criminal cases and arrested 1,295 related suspects.
Noticeably, some cases were misinformed by case-related people and the wrong information were then spread on social networks, making people misunderstand the nature of the cases . This has accumulated negative public opinion on the situation of local social order, causing anxieties among people.
On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam appreciated and praised the efforts of the HCMC Police in the past time.
The Deputy Minister also suggested that the HCMC Police continue to grasp the situation, forecast possible complications to promptly advise the Ministry’s leaders as well as local leadership to map out plans to proactively handle unexpected complicated situations.
At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen coordination with relevant forces, departments and the Party committees at local levels to promote the movement “All people protecting national security”, tighten discipline observation within the force, intensify personnel management, inspection and supervision work, and enhance the management and training of officers and soldiers, in an effort to fulfill the assigned tasks, the Deputy Minister emphasized.
