Vietnamese MPS, Cuban Ministry of Interior agree to bolster bilateral cooperation

The endpoint in Hanoi saw the attendance of Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, former Deputy Minister of Public Security and Mr. Pedro Soca Pascual, representative of the Cuban Ministry of the Interior in Vietnam.

Addressing the meeting, Minister To Lam stated that since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cuba has always taken the lead in the pandemic control.

Despite the lack of resources and economic difficulties, Cuba still sent its top medical experts to pandemic-hit areas and countries around the world, including Vietnam, to support their efforts to fight the disease.

Cuba has accelerated the research and development of vaccines against COVID-19, striving to be one of the countries that can vaccinate all of its population with its self-made vaccine.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas highly appreciated the cooperation between the Cuban Ministry of Interior and the Vietnamese MPS in the past time, saying that the Cuban Ministry of the Interior always wants to expand bilateral cooperation with the Vietnamese MPS in all fields, especially in protecting national security and ensuring social order and security.

At the meeting, the two ministers discussed issues of mutual concern and agreed on a number of cooperation contents in the coming time in order to strengthen the cooperation between the two ministries.

On the occasion, under the authority of the Cuban President, the Cuban Ministry of the Interior presented the Second Class “June 6” Medal to Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, former Deputy Minister of Public Security of Vietnam.
