Counter-Narcotics Police Department presents scholarship to daughter of deceased policeman
A charitable delegation of the Counter-Narcotics Police Department and the Provincial Police Department of Nghe An on October 23 visited the family of Captain Sam Quoc Nghia, a policeman who died while performing his duty.
In March 2020, Captain Sam Quoc Nghia died while chasing armed drug-related criminals in the mountainous area of Nam Giai commune, Que Phong district.
Major General Vu Hung Vuong, former Vice Director of the Police General Department and Honorary Chairman of the “Light up children’s dreams” Fund and other policemen visited Nghia’s family in Chau Thang commune, Quy Chau district, and offered incense to him.
On this occasion, the fund of “Light up children’s dreams” presented a scholarship worth 12 million Dong to Nghia’s 4-year-old daughter at Sam Gia Han kindergarten.
The fund, launched in 2007 by the Counter-Narcotics Police Department, has provided supports to children of policemen who died on duty.
It has also offered assistance to hundreds of police officers and soldiers whose families faced difficulties as well as backed the program of building drug-free schools and communes in mountainous areas, including Ha Giang, Bac Kan, Hoa Binh or Quang Nam.
