Department of External Security receives “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title
The Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security held a solemn ceremony to present the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” to the Department of External Security on July 12, in Hanoi.
Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang chaired the ceremony.
Over its 79-year history, the Department of External Security has experienced various organizational models and names. During the path, although facing countless difficulties and challenges, generations of officers and enlistees of the External Security Force have consistently demonstrated unity, dedication, resourcefulness and courage, and excellently fulfilled all tasks entrusted by the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security.
On June 30, 2023, the Minister of Public Security signed a decision designating July 12, 1946, as the day to mark the tradition of the People’s Public Security External Security Force as it is the important historical milestone starting the External Security Force’s journey filled with numerous glorious achievements as well as with silent sacrifices on the frontlines of safeguarding national security.On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang acclaimed the relentless efforts and remarkable achievements of generations of officers and enlistees of the force over the past 79 years, and congratulated them on the noble reward.
At the ceremony, under the authorization of the Party and State leaders, Minister Luong Tam Quang solemnly attached the “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” insignia to the department’s traditional flag and presented the certificate of conferment to the Department of External Security’s leadership.
