Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Dang Hong Duc had a working session with the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Police Department to review its financial, logistic and technical supports for operational and combat activities under the new organizational system, on March 5, 2025.

The meeting also discussed the HCMC Police Department’s preparations for major national events in 2025.

Delivering reports at the meeting, Deputy Director of the HCMC Police Department Major General Nguyen Thanh Huong stated that the HCMC Police Department had seriously followed the directives of the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS leaders on streamlining the structure of local-level police units.
Particularly, the leadership of the HCMC Police Department had instructed all 22 district-level police units to count and make lists of all of their equipment, facilities, weapons and assets for the re-organization of the system of the local police for more effectiveness and efficiency in the current context.
Under the direction of MPS, the HCMC Police Department has basically completed the arrangement of all financial, logistic and technical sectors according to the new organizational apparatus of the local-level police.

As a result, the HCMC Police Department has well prepared finance, logistics and technical services for all of its affiliated units to deploy their plans to protect major national events in 2025, in accordance with MPS circulars and regulations.
Addressing the working session, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc acknowledged and praised the HCMC Police Department for its outstanding results of all working fields.
Regarding the local police’s key tasks in the coming time, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc requested that the HCMC Police Department accelerate the restructuring and streamlining of the local police forces, saying that its organizational restructuring plan should take into account the effective use of existing office buildings and stations without any waste of working spaces, and be immediately restored to working order.
He also instructed the police department to appropriately allocate stations to communal-level police units, ensuring that the new station will meet the requirement for working space of a communal police unit after it has received more personnel under the new structure.
The Deputy Minister also urged the HCMC Police Department to proactively coordinate with relevant under-ministerial departments to remove any obstacles to financial, logistic and technical works, especially those related to housing projects for officers and enlistees.
