Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung received a Vietnam alumni delegation from the Lao Ministry of Public Security led by former Director of the General Department of Security Lieutenant General Bunmi Sengkhamgiong, which was in Vietnam attending the seminar "Vietnam – Laos: 60 years of cooperation and development", on the morning of November 25, in Hanoi.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung affirmed that Vietnam and Laos have a special traditional relationship, founded and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihan and other senior leaders of the two countries over the past time. 

The Party, State, people and the Vietnamese People's Public Security Forces are always grateful to the Party, State, people and the Lao Public Security Forces for their great supports for Vietnam in the past national liberation struggles well as in the current national defense and development cause.

From the requirements for protecting the Party and the Government of Laos, on March 22, 1961, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam decided to send the first expert team with three officers at the request of the Lao Government to support the Lao side in building and developing the Lao police force, which marked the beginning of the official cooperation between the police forces of the two countries Vietnam - Laos.

In 1976, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam established 12/75 School to train Lao police officers.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung emphasized the Vietnamese ministry of Public Security held a seminar between Vietnamese police experts who used to work in Laos, and Lao police officers who used to study in Vietnam on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos (September 5, 1962), 45 years since the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos (July 18, 1977), and the "Year of Solidarity and Friendship between Vietnam and Laos 2022”. 

He said, “This is a meaningful and practical activity to thank the Vietnamese and Lao police officers who have contributed to tightening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general and between the Ministry of Public Security of  Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Laos in particular.
