Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen attends 3rd Global Public Security Cooperation Forum
PSNews - At the forum, on behalf of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen delivered a speech themed “Sharing cooperation results, maintaining public security" discussing three key approaches.
At the invitation of the Ministry of Public Security of China, Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen, leading a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, attended the 3rd Global Public Security Cooperation Forum taking place in Lianyungang, Jiangsu, China from September 8th to September 11th, 2024.
Secretary of the Party Secretariat, State Councillor and Minister of Public Security of China Wang Xiaohong chaired the opening session of the forum.
At the forum, on behalf of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen delivered a speech themed “Sharing cooperation results, maintaining public security" discussing three key approaches.
Firstly, the Vietnamese Deputy Minister stressed the need to reach a common awareness of building and strengthening sincerity in strategic trust and cooperation among countries to jointly address traditional and non-traditional security threats and facilitate the efficiency of international cooperation, on the basis of respecting each country’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests.
The Vietnamese official underlined that each country needs to be responsible for building a responsible community and a network of public security cooperation.
He also underscored that countries should actively learn and apply achievements, typical models, good methods and good experiences around the world to improve their thinking and social administration management capacity to ensure public security.
Secondly, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen underlined that countries should bring into full play important results in bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms and institutions, share the results of public security cooperation with the goal of pursuing the value of a mutually beneficial community through multilateral mechanisms, on the basis of mutual respect and in line with international law, so as to achieve common security and long-term security, while supporting multilateralism in the world with the central role of the United Nations, and actively contributing to strengthening solidarity in international organizations.
Finally, the Vietnamese official proposed that countries should establish new transparent, effective, equal and mutually beneficial cooperation mechanisms, enhance information sharing, and closely coordinate to develop new frameworks to detect, prevent and address threats to global public security, especially multilateral cooperation mechanisms and initiatives on key fields such as energy transition, climate change response, food security, maritime cooperation, peace and security, international humanitarian assistance and United Nations peacekeeping operations.
Within the framework of the forum, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen and delegates visited the Public Security Tech Expo held by the Chinese Ministry of Public Security.
* During the visit to China, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen had a meeting with Deputy Minister of Public Security of China Chen Siyuan.
At the meeting, the two sides evaluated results of the cooperation between the Ministries of Public Security of the two countries over the past time, and agreed to continue to effectively implement bilateral cooperation mechanisms and signed cooperation documents.
