 Head of the Steering Committee for the Project on Vietnamese Public Security Forces’ participation in UN Peacekeeping Operations and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang chaired a meeting with the Standing Office for UN Peacekeeping Operations under the Ministry of Public Security on June 13th, 2023, in Hanoi.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang underlined that the participation of Vietnamese police officers in UN peacekeeping operations is an important political mission, contributing to realizing international commitments of the Party, State and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam to maintain a peaceful, stable environment in the region as well as in the world.

The engagement will also help raise the position and prestige of Vietnam in general and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in particular in the world.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the Standing Office for UN Peacekeeping Operations had effectively implemented the project and achieved several notable results. thanks to the sound direction of the Minister of Public Security and other leaders.

The Standing Office has sent 04 police officers to the UN peacekeeping missions, and trained police officers in preparation for UN peacekeeping operations in the coming time. The Office also set up cooperation channels with the UN and international partners who support Vietnamese police officers to join UN peacekeeping operations.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang and delegates attending the meeting cut the ribbon to inaugurate the new headquaters of the Standing Office for UN Peacekeeping Operations under the Ministry of Public Security.
