Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang visits Cambodia, meeting with senior local officials
Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang has just finished a visit to Kingdom of Cambodia that lasted from October 12-13.
Within the framework of his visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, he had official talks with Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Internal Affairs Sok Phal and meetings with leaders of the Cambodian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Specially, the visiting deputy minister paid courtesy calls on Senior Advisor to the King of Cambodia Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Neth Savoeun, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kingdom of Cambodia Sar Sokha.
At the meetings, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang conveyed best regards from Minister of Public Security of Vietnam General To Lam to the Cambodian leaders, and on behalf of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam he congratulated the Cambodian People’s Party on its victory in the 2023 Cambodian General Election and its success in establishing a new Government.
The Deputy Minister also requested the Cambodian side to create favorable conditions for people of Vietnamese origin in Cambodia to get Khmer citizenship, ensure their legitimate rights and provide new livelihoods for the displaced Vietnamese nationals so that they can soon stabilize their lives and contribute to the overall development of Cambodia.
The Vietnamese official also suggested that relevant forces of the two sides strengthen coordination to open special joint campains to suppress cross-border crimes, especially illicit drug trafficking and human trafficking, as well as coordinate with each other to launch joint investigations and attacks on types of crimes.
The Cambodian leaders sincerely thanked the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam for its close coordination, experience sharing and support for the Cambodian Ministry of Internal Affairs to successfully organize various important political events in the past time, enhancing high-level contacts to help promptly exchange information and situations, contributing to effectively resolving complex arising issues and promoting traditional friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.
