Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long commends Lao Cai Provincial Police Department
PSNews - Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long sent a letter of commendation to the Lao Cai Provincial Police Department, praising the local police for successfully dismantling an illegal gambling network headed by a foreigner suspect, on March 8, 2025.

Over the past time, the Lao Cai Provincial Police Department, in coordination with the Criminal Police Department, took synchronous professional measures to investigate and dismantle an illegal gambling network run by a foreign suspect in collusion with domestic accomplices.
By now, the police have arrested 97 suspects and seized assets worth approximately VND 720 billion, along with 30 computers, 90 mobile phones, and various other exhibits.
The breakoff of the criminal network demonstrated the strong determination and high sense of responsibility of the Lao Cai Provincial Police Department in implementing directions of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on preventing and combating transnational organized crime.
The success in clearing the case also reflected the initiative of the local police as well as their close and effective collaboration with relevant under-ministerial police departments, contributing to deterring criminals, preventing crime, stabilizing the security and order situation, and strengthening people’s trust in the Public Security Forces.
On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long praised the police units for their victory.
The Deputy Minister requested the Lao Cai Provincial Police Department to expand the investigation of the case, clarify violations by foreign suspects, and early complete the documentation so as to prosecute all the involved in line with the laws.
The Deputy Minister wished the Lao Cai Provincial Police Force more success in performing its assigned tasks in the coming time, contributing to beautifying the image of the People's Public Security Forces in the cause of safeguarding and developing the Fatherland.
