Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long praises Hanoi Police for dismantling fraudulent online group

Over the past time, the Hanoi City Police Department took synchronous professional measures to uncover and dismantle a criminal group that defrauded people of their money by persuading them to invest in fake cryptocurrencies.
Initial investigation results revealed that the suspects had deceived nearly 2,000 victims and illegally appropriated over 2 trillion VND.
By now, the police have arrested 11 suspects, seized 21 cars and temporarily impounded or frozen assets worth approximately VND 500 billion.
The success in clearing the case demonstrated the local police’s sharp professional expertise, strong determination and high sense of responsibility when implementing directions of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on preventing and combating transnational organized crime.
The victory contributed to deterring criminals, preventing crime and reinforcing people’s trust in the Public Security Forces.
On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long praised the Hanoi Police Force for the victory.
The Deputy Minister urged the Hanoi City Police Department to widely disseminate information on criminal methods, tricks and schemes to raise the public awareness and vigilance against this type of crime.
He also requested the police department to collaborate with other relevant police units and agencies to expand the investigation of the case and early finish the documentation so as to prosecute all the involved in line with the laws.
