Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son inspects COVID-19 prevention and fight in Da Nang
PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security recently worked with the Da Nang Municipal Police Department on COVID-19 prevention and control.
At the meeting, Senior Colonel Tran Phong, Deputy Director of the Municipal Police Department briefed the Deputy Minister on the local police’s COVID-19 prevention and control .
According the report, from May, the department has deployed over 35,500 police officers and soldiers to ensure security and order at nearly 100 blockade areas, and handled nearly 9,000 cases for violating COVID-19 regulations.
With the support of the Traffic Police Department, the local police advised the City People’s Committee to set up a COVID-19 checkpoint on the Da Nang – Quang Ngai expressway to strictly control people and vehicles passing the city.
In addition, the Da Nang City Police Department also ensured absolute safety in the local detention facilities and drew up plans to respond to the spread of COVID-19 in detention facilities.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son spoke highly of the Da Nang police’s contribution to the local fight against COVID-19.
The Deputy Minister stressed that the COVID-19 pandemic situation is developing very complicatedly, especially in Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces.
“As an important force in the fight against COVID-19, the Public Security Forces in general and the Da Nang police in particular must take the lead, and join hand with the frontline forces to effectively fight the pandemic and prevent it from spreading in community,” Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son said.
The Deputy Minister asked the local police to continue implementing COVID-19 prevention and control measures with their strongest determination and highest sense of responsibility.
The Ministry of Public Security will also seek more vaccine resources and speed up the vaccination program for frontline police officers and soldiers.
