Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To visits Cuba
PSNews - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, leading a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, paid a visit to the Republic of Cuba, from October 22nd to October 26th, 2024.
Within the framework of the visit, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To had talks with Member of the Politburo and Minister of the Interior of Cuba Lieutenant General Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas.
At the talks, the two sides reviewed the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of the Interior of Cuba signed in 2018, as well as outstanding cooperation results over the past time.
The two sides agreed to increase experience sharing in force building, inspection, supervision, education and training and immigration management, contributing to protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety in each country, promote high-level and expert-level delegation exchange in several other fields, as well as accelerate the implementation of agreements between the two ministries.
* At his meeting with diplomats and staff of the Embassy of Vietnam in Cuba, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To briefed delegates on the domestic situation, while highly appreciating the key role of the Embassy in promoting the Vietnam – Cuba bilateral relations.
The Deputy Minister wished that all the diplomats and staff of the Embassy continue to well perform their main function, and make more contributions to maintaining, cultivating and developing the special and great friendship between the two peoples and the two countries to a higher level.
* Within the framework of the visit, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To and the delegation laid flowers at President Ho Chi Minh Park in La Habana capital, visited the Che Guevara Memorial Area and the Centro Fidel Castro Museum, a place to collect, preserve, conserve and honor the legacy of the late Cuban Commander-in-Chief.
