DGICM 27 Organizing Committee makes debut
Deputy Minister of Public SecurityLieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee chaired a meeting to commence the Organizing Committee of the 27th Meeting of the ASEAN Directors-General of Immigration Departments and Heads of Consular Affairs Divisions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs (DGICM 27).
Deputy Minister of Public SecurityLieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee chaired a meeting to commence the Organizing Committee of the 27th Meeting of the ASEAN Directors-General of Immigration Departments and Heads of Consular Affairs Divisions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs (DGICM 27). DGICM 27 is scheduled to be held from August 5 to August 9, 2024 in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Deputy Director of the Immigration Department Senior Colonel Nguyen Ba Tuan announced a decision on establishing the DGICM 27 Organizing Committee and a decision on establishing subcommittees for the 27th DGICM Conference.
Accordingly, the Organizing Committee of the 27th DGICM includes 27 senior officers headed by Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, while Director of the Immigration Department Major General Pham Dang Khoa is the Standing Deputy Head of the committee.
The 27th DGICM Conference is considered an important event, boosting cooperation between immigration and consular authorities in the ASEAN region.
This is also an opportunity for Vietnam, as the host country, to make a good impression on the attending delegates,and affirm Vietnam's capacity to organize international and regional conferences.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized the important significance of the DGICM 27, saying that the conference can raise the position of the host country and demonstrate Vietnam's effort to build an ASEAN of unity, sustainable and comprehensive development in immigration and consular management.
Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang requested the organizing committee and subcommittees to make good preparations of its agenda and logistics so that the conference could be a success in line with the Party's police on strengthening ASEAN cooperation.
The host country will show respect, hospitality, civilization and thoughtful politeness towards participating delegations while relevant forces should ensure security and absolute safety for all international delegates attending the conference.
