General To Lam receives new Ambassador of Saudi Arabia
General To Lam, Minister of Public Security hosted a meeting with the newly-accredited Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Vietnam Mohammed Dahlwy on September 29 in Hanoi.
Minister To Lam congratulated the ambassador on his new appointment, and hoped that his mission in Vietnam would be of great success, contributing to fostering the relations between the two countries in general and cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and relevant agencies of Saudi Arabia in particular.
Minister Lam expressed his delight at the fine relations between the two countries over the past 20 years in all areas, including commerce, economics, investment, culture and tourism, noting that Saudi Arabia is among Vietnam’s top partner in the Middle East. The two countries have actively supported each other at international and multilateral forums.
Minister To Lam also hoped that the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia would further develop in the coming time. He suggested the two sides continue to maintain the joint committee mechanism to effectively realize the signed agreements, while stepping up the negotiation and signing of an agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, agreement on transfer of convicts and agreement on cooperation in crime prevention and control between the two governments. He considered the deals as a legal corridor for the two sides to develop their ties.
The guest thanked Minister Lam for the welcome and affirmed that he in his capacity as the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Vietnam will continue to spare no efforts to contribute to strengthening the relationship between the two countries in general, and cooperation between the relevant agencies of Saudi Arabia and the MPS of Vietnam in particular.
